Parent Workshop
Description of Parent Workshop:

One time monthly, IMPACT staff and Parent Advocates team up to teach parents that every moment is a learning moment. Up to twelve mothers attend each session, which are designed using materials, information and research from the Born Learning Campaign (United Way/Civitas/Families and Work Institute/Ad Council). Parents of children under age three learn age-appropriate ways to promote their children's healthy development, gaining information, opportunities for reflection, group sharing as well as skills and concrete strategies to engage with their children during everyday activities (including laundry, cooking, bath time and bedtime). The workshops emphasize learning but are an important opportunity for parents to understand how children develop and are impacted by the world around them. IMPACT's continuums of supports help parents create worlds for their children that are nurturing and supportive.
